چکیده
Recently, a manuscript was published with the objective to complete a multivariable and multisite calibration and validation for the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model on the Motueka River basin by Cao et al. (2006). Physically based distributed parameter models, such as SWAT, have become a preferred tool to predict watershed response not only at the watershed outlet, but also at intermediate points within the watershed. Calibrating and validating such models before they can be applied to make watershed decisions is always a challenge. A methodology to perform multisite and multiparameter calibration should be of interest to a wide rage of stakeholders working in the area of watershed management. However, upon reviewing this paper, we felt two topics warranted additional discussion.

Comparison of Single- site and Multi-site Based Calibrations of SWAT in Taleghan Watershed, Iran
Calibration of model is critical for hydrologic modeling of large watersheds in a mountain watershed. In this study Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) used to comparison a single-site calibration procedure that employed streamflow measurement at outlet of watershed to a multi-site calibration method that used streamflow measurements at three stations (Galinak, Joestan and Dehdar). Results sh...

The runoff simulation have particular importance in Civil works, river training, design and planning of ground water resources, flood control and prevention of environmental hazards and reduction of erosion and sedimentation in the watershed. The runoff in each region varies according to climatic conditions, hydrological, soil and vegetation in the basin. Simulate these processes need to ...
متن کاملRiver Flow Simulation Using SWAT Physically Based Model in Barandouzchay of Urmia Lake River Basin
Nowadays, there are too many models in the world for simulation of hydrological processes, such as the SWAT physically based model. The SWAT model is a continuous and physically based hydrologic model that is the smallest unit in this model is Hydrologic Response Unit, and all hydrological processes are simulated in each of these units. This model can simulate runoff, sedimentation, erosion and...

In the last decades, climate change and fluctuation of water balance have been the main reason to apply hydrologic models for estimating quality and quantity of water components as efficient tools in water planning of critical conditions. In addition, these hydrologic models with potential to study the effects of watershed management practices on the runoff components are suitable tools for opt...
متن کاملSimulation of Hydrological Balance in Eskandari Watershed Using SWAT Model and algorithms SUFI2
In order to manage watersheds, especially in mountainous areas that are not adequately station hydrological phenomena simulation is important. In this study, the SWAT model used to simulate hydrologic basin Eskandari. Calibration and validation of models for the periods 2006-1992 and 2009-2015, respectively, using the algorithm SUFI2 in software SWAT CUP was done. To evaluate the simulation re...
